The MacConnell's 1973 Formula Thunderbird F-260c

MMSI 338095131

Wareham River/ Buzzards Bay Massachusetts Aug 2009

I found her on Cape Cod in January 2009. From what I have read, they only made this model for one year. She had twin ford 302's that needed a lot of help. Now twin new counter rotating Mercruiser 5.7L TKS's with Alpha outdrives have been installed. I have completely stripped of 30 years of bottom paint to find an almost perfect hull. 3 coats of black Hydrocoat later it looks great. The hull buffed out nicely. All teak has been removed, sanded, and oiled with numerous coats. The galley counter has been redone. The original Ritchie compass has been rebuilt by Ritchie. A complete set of Raymarine electronics along with a Dual / Bose stereo system. The carpets have been replaced in the cuddy and head and all cushions have been redone with vinyl. All the wiring has been redone. All new gauges. The Bennett trim system needed a little fluid. The fresh water system has been restored. Everything works great. This is a great boat. The hull design is incredible. She plains quickly and exceeds 50 knots. Even in rough water you don't get wet. This is one remarkable boat for 37 years old. There is not a lot of information about the 1973 F260C's. Any information would be great!
